Fields" EP album and now I'm lucky enough to give you my thoughts on her new follow up album, "Forests".
Having highly praised the first album it's probably not a surprise that I'd do just the same for the follow up. I mean, how could I not? Rebecca Roubion does a fantastic job at making this album stand on it's own but still meshing very well with the first.
"Fields" contains the mellow vibes one would expect from Rebecca Roubion's music but with more instrumentals, which is a very nice change. The singer-songwriters gorgeous voice shines through all four songs beautifully.
My personal favorite song out of the bunch was "Poison in my Veins". Even though it was a bit on the melancholy side it was felt familiar and comforting since I think we can all relate to wanting to be swept away.
This album has a very vulnerable and heartfelt feel to it but still manages to feel very welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this album as it does not disappoint.
"Forests" track list:
- Poison in My Veins
- Martyr Heart
- Cripple Me
- Not Sure Yet
