Resevoir has a pop-y feel without being overly peppy but manages to keep itself in that genre with it's upbeat guitar, fun sound and smooth vocals; a trio that creates some very unique and catchy tunes. Sam's breathy vocals actually remind me a lot of Feist or Jenny Lewis.
I've listened to the album a handful of times since I got it last week and can't get enough of it. I found all eleven tracks on the album very engaging but really really dug the vibe of "Dizzy" (track 2) & "Am I Not Enough" (track 3).
Where Sam grew up, there was always music-from harmonizing in the back of the VW van with her three older sisters, to singing at block party talent shows. This album is Sam's second full length album and can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon or by visiting SamanthaShelton.net.
Reservoir track list:
- Break Into Me
- Am I Not Enough
- Evening Wear
- Never Know
- Just Say OK
- Lazy For You
- Shoot Me Now
