2013...The Year Of Rash Decisions

We're only 7 days into the new year & I've already out did myself in making rash decisions.

Some of you may have read my tweets last week about the purchase of a new car. It's true, it happened.

That right there is what Rusty likes to call the "Silver BB". As in, not big enough to be deemed a silver bullet. Goofy, I know. But he's cute so I keep him around.

Up until a few days ago Rusty & I were a one car family. If you've ever shared a car with someone then you'd know that's it a giant pain in the ass cause one of you is always stuck at home on the weekends when the other's at work. Yes, my hatred for cabin fever & having to share brought me to agree to this purchase.

Also, a man needs his own car. One that doesn't constantly have mini pads falling out the glove box or smelling of strawberry lip gloss...seriously, is that not the best fucking smell though?!

In all honesty, we probably should've waited & saved up a bit of money to get our shit straight before signing another 5 yr contract on a car but considering we just survived the end of the world, big impulse buys are totally justifiable.

Especially when they come in kick ass convertible form.

  2. We were going to buy a new truck last week, but we're kind of on this "student loans are now paid off"-high and don't feel like taking on the debt. We'll probably get one in the spring.
    Enjoy that new ride!

  4. I totally had buyer's regret when we bought our last car. I spent a week totally convinced we should have got something cheaper or smaller or just got rid of our cars and rode bikes to work. Because THAT'S practical in Indiana. Then I realized, hell, I'm fabulous and deserve a nice new car. After having given birth, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that the existence of our uterus gives us license to be impractical. That thing is nothing but trouble.

  5. look at your bad self go! I love it. I actually just paid off my chevy avalanche (definitely not as cool as your little convertible there, but it's practical enough). After 5 years of payments I'm not sure what I should do with the extra $500/month... me + you = shopping spree? xo

  8. What a cute little baby! In my opinion, you should totally swap cars with Rusty. How to do that? Drop some hints that this is a girl's car, he'll totally get it ;-)

We're still a one car family, but thinking about changing that too. Even though sharing time on the drive to work is great, having to pick up your man really is a time-sucker. Good thing he's so cute! ;-)

  11. Once you have had 2 cars you are lost when you just have one. Our one car has been at the mechanics today, we planned it for today since I have this week of, but boy did I feel stuck at the house all day!

  12. Good for you. Is there ever a good time for a big purchase? I think not, just pay a bit more each months and you will have her paid off in no time!

  16. OH I love impulse buys! We are (maybe) buying a new bed this week/weekend and I'm going to talk Matt into buying a whole bedroom set. Can we afford it? Nope. Do I want a dresser that opens without a fight? YES.
