Random Thursday: In My Hometown...

Not only is today awesome because it's Random Thursday time but it's also Thanksgiving for us Americans...woohoo for turkey day! Get those stretchy pants out, ladies.

Hope you all have a great day with family and/or friends. Try not to eat your way into a fat food coma cause we'll really miss you around here if you do. Moving on...here's this weeks topic ->

I probably could've gone with my original hometown but I opted to go with the city I live in now & have lived in for the last 4 years. Just a heads up, it's a small-ish city & there aint nothing around but houses & desert. Snore-city is what I like to call it.

So, here we go...

People have NO fashion sense.
I actually took the first photo while waiting in line at a Subway. Dude's wear pants hanging off their ass & socks that not even a girl would wear. Girls are constantly sporting tights/leggings in place of pants and showing off their massive camel toe...it's pretty fucking nasty. If you want fashion you definitely have to go somewhere else to find it.

Go to the drive-in theater.
This drive-in isn't exactly in my city but it's practically next door. Not only is it a great way to get all nostalgic about the old days but there's a lot more freedom cause you don't have to be confined to one tiny seat for 2 hours. Also, you can't beat paying $7 for 2 movies.

 Everyone says...
This might be a SoCal thing. If you ever meet me you'll see just how Californian I am by my constant use of  'dude'.

 We have a lake.
Looks nice, right? Yeah, it's not. It's actually pretty freakin' dirty & not impressive. During the summer this place gets packed with people camping, fishing, jet-skiing,  BBQ-ing but not me. Hell no. I'm home with the A/C cranked up & eating my delivered pizza.

 It's desert-like.
I took this picture on my way home from the freeway. As you can see, there's a whole lot a nothing except hills, desert, and houses. The biggest store we have in the city is a Walmart. Yeah...classy. Thank goodness there's a Target & Kohl's  and a better 24-hr Walmart only 15 mins away. And yes, I totally make that drive instead of going to the local stores.

People like to jump out of planes.
Apparently the city I live in has one of the best Skydiving companies in it. Hm...I'd prefer a Target but I suppose we'll take what we can get. Rusty says he sits outside of his work on his lunch break & watches as people jump from planes. Crazy. As awesome as it sounds I don't think I'd ever do it. Too chicken shit.

* * * * *
Now it's your turn to show us what's so cool (or not) about where you live & don't forget to link up below so we can leave you some comment love!

Next weeks topic: My Winter Survival Items...

  1. Happy Thanksgiving Lin ... so cool that we get to see a little bit of what your (current) home town is like. It's pretty desert-like - I won't lie. You need some of London's rain:)

    Drive-Ins are awesome!

    Have a good long weekend!

  2. Well, that sounds pretty cool in my book. You get awesome weather, people say Dude (which they never say in Germany, so it's kind of a dreamy cliché for us), and a drive in cinema - what more can a girl want? =) Didn't have time to write a proper post to link up today, so I'm just going to browse through your home towns, dudes! ;-)

  3. I get a lot of girls wearing tights instead of pants where I live too. Sometimes it works, but other times...ugh. Not fashionable at all!

We have a drive-in too. Not MY town/city, but close enough...I love drive-in theaters, except I didn't got at ALL this past summer. Next year, I plan to hit it up a lot more.

  4. totally love your comment about people saying dude! So true! Love your spin on your hometown!

  5. I love that your hometown is so deser-like. Pretty impressive for a German like me! And yeah, I love the fasion sense! :)

  6. So what if you live in a snore-city, you still live in California where there is NO snow!!!! Unlike where I live. I need to move somewhere warm or tropical.

  7. That pretty blue water does make it look un-desert-like. Deceiving?
I think we should do a study on how bad fashion can actually be in our towns. :)

  8. Lol I totally say dude, and like...and obviously totally since I typed it top start the sentence BAHAHAHAHAAH!

  9. Based on the whole "dude" thing, it looks like I'm Californian too. Well, whaddya know?? I wish we had such a great drive-in theatre. I love movies but they're so damn expensive! If you take up skydiving you'll probably give me a heart attack, so take that into consideration. I have a fear of heights, particularly falling from them.

  10. LEBOWSKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The man!

I love comments!
