Colbie Caillat 'Christmas In The Sand' Album Review & Giveaway

Whether we want to admit it or not, Christmas is right around the corner. Other than gift giving and receiving, the Christmas tunes are the best part.

Having lived in sunny southern California my entire life, I've never quiet experienced the so-called joys of "white Christmases" or making a snowman in my front yard. So as much as I've loved the classic Christmas songs, they just never seemed relevant to my kind of Christmas. Until now, because Colbie Caillat has changed that.

The California native and two-time Grammy winning, singer songwriter is releasing her first album of holiday music, Christmas In The Sand. The Malibu-born, platinum recording artists brings her easy going rhythms and breezy style to this album, which features five original Christmas songs and 10 holiday standards including the classic "Merry Christmas Baby", featuring Brad Paisley and "Baby It's Cold Outside," featuring Gavin Degraw.

Colbie Caillat wrote the upbeat and fun track, Christmas In The Sand, while on vacation on a small album in Bali.
"It was beautiful and sunny and the people were warm and wonderful. But I spent a lot of time listening to Christmas songs - and picked the ones I love to sing most of all. It was perfect for an album called Christmas in the Sand."
This Christmas track is nothing like I've heard before and definitely fits to my kind of warm CA Christmas. Colbie's voice is strong, yet sweet and the upbeat tune of the song makes you want to sway in your seat (I literally did). Her voice reminds me of fellow singer songwriter Sarah Bareilles so if you're a fan of hers you'll definitely be pleased with this album. All in all, you can bet this album will be added to my holiday collection this year!
