There's "No Doubt", This Is A Let Down

I was a huge No Doubt fan in HS.

Seriously, if I could have pulled off the super short blonde hair & mid-drift exposing cut up t-shirt look, I'd of done it. Even now I have to admit there'a a part of my that has a total girl crush on Gwen.

For real, how is it even humanly possible to look that good in your 40's? I can't even manage to look half that decent & I'm half her fucking age. Ugh.

Their early grunge/reggae/semi-ska albums was right up my alley and even when they parted ways for a while and Gwen diverted from their classic sound & went all Asian 'harajuku' girl crazy, I still stayed true but now...well, I'm not so sure.

No Doubt's new single off their (soon to be released) comeback album, Push & Shove, is a bit of a let down IMO. When I first heard they were coming out with a new album after 11 fucking years of being apart, I was ubber excited. I was hoping for something like their early 90's music. Something...you know, good.

But that's not what they gave us. Granted it's fun but still totally 'meh'.

*sad trombone*

Based on this song alone you can bet your sweet ass I won't be spending any of my cash on the album. If anything, I'll acquire for free.

What do you think of the new song?

  1. No. I listened to the first 15 seconds and turned it off. Terrible. Double sad trombone.

  4. Hated it. Alright "hate" is a strong word. How about "strongly dislike"

  5. Hmmm, don't like it very much. Maybe the rest of the album will be better?

  6. yikes, not that great :(
I LOVE gwen too so much! She was the first kind of 'modern day' pinup/rockabilly/ska that I ever saw/heard. Gorgeous! And my son's named Gavin after... you guessed it, Gwen's hubs Gavis Rossdale! Now that's some fan devotion, right? hahah. Hopefully No Doubt will try again, they were so good together in the 90's.

  7. Uh.........she went from "I'm Just a Girl" to this nonsense?! So sad. I heard that No Doubt was going to be at a concert with some other lame-ass bands and I assumed that it was w/o Gwen. Yeesh. Though, you know, I didn't really like Rock Steady that much either. So I'm not really an unbiased judge lol.

  8. It's bad. I was hoping this album would more 'Tragic Kingdom' less 'Rock Steady' - boo!

  9. It IS Meh. Annnnd, my dog got up and left the room as soon as it started. Coincidence?

  10. Tragic Kingdom was one of the first albums I owned and since then, I've felt like nothing they produced came even close to how amazing that first album was. This song sounds more like the solo stuff she came out with than the ND stuff we are used to.

  11. It's no Tragic Kingdom, that's for sure, but I kind of dug the reggae thing they had going on there. Is it amazing? Not so much. But I liked it better than anything from Rock Steady. And really, is there ANY girl that doesn't have a crush on Gwen?!
