Ten On Tuesday

1. Fact: The whole Elf on a shelf thing gives me the heebie jeebies. The thought of a tiny elf wondering around my house, touching my stuff, watching me...yeah, I'll pass. Creepo.

2. I was so excited because I thought all but like 4 Christmas gift were bought. Ha! I made a list yesterday & found I still have about 14 items to buy & that stuff doesn't even include stocking stuffers. *head desk*

3. In case any of you are still wondering what to get me for Christmas -->

4. Did anyone else watch the season finale of Boardwalk Empire? Holy hell, I never saw that ending coming. Ever. If you're a fan & want an inside scoop on the finale & season 3 click here.

5. Um...I honestly don't think I'd be able to look away, haha. And, the tattoos, nice touch.

6. My mom & I are making Tamales on Thursday. I'm pretty excited. Mostly about eating them.

7. The black pants I wear to work are getting those damn holes in the inner thigh. I'm totally claiming it's because they're old and definitely not because of my fat thighs.

8. So I heard Lindsay Lohan's Playboy pics leaked last week & naturally I just had too take a look & see what the big fuss was about. Of course, it wasn't all that impressive, same old "I wanna be just like Marilyn Monroe" bullshit but I have to give it to the make up & editing people cause she actually looks somewhat doable. Somewhat.

9. I'm not even lying, I need this shit on my fridge -->

10. You can bet your sweet cheeks I'll be watching this over the weekend! You should too. That way I have someone to talk to about it. -->

  1. 1. Okay, I admit that I've thought about doing EotS. But, then I felt icky about the whole "Santa's watching you" thing and decided against it. It's also helped that Barnes & Noble is totally out.

    2. Don't feel bad. I haven't even started.

    3. I LOVE that bag. Love!

    4. No. Don't tell me because I'm waiting until it comes out on Netflix some time in the next three years.

    5. I LOL'ed.

    6. OH! Tamales! They're the best.

    7. Totally because they were cheaply made by slave children in China. True story.

    8. Gross.

    9. Me too! Actually, my oldest child lovingly placed "damn lady" from my magnetic poetry set on the fridge door and that usually stops me in my tracks.

    10. Yay! I've got the first one coming soon(ish) from Netflix so I'll be able to see it and then go see this one.

  2. Elf of the Shelf IS creepy. No thanks!

    Tamales = LOVE. I.Am.Jealous.

I gotta admit, we're getting a sitter and heading to see Sherlock Holmes. The first one DID not disappoint!

  3. Seriously, I never heard of the tamales christmas tradition until I moved to Texas. I tried them just once. Wasn't impressed. Then again, I'm sure the Mexicans don't understand my obsession with buttered (not deep-fried) pierogies. Shrug.

  5. 1. I have a vintage elf set for my tree...I've never heard of the Elf on a shelf...I'm so out of it.

    2. Like BFG said up there, I haven't even started.

    3. Love the bag!

    4. Haven't seen it! My obsession with Steve Buscemi was trumped by my poorness. It'll be on Netflix soon...right??

    5. LOL!! I like the chick on the left.

    6. Yum. Never had a tamale that wasn't a shiny little red candy.

    7. Chub rub. It sucks.

    8. Eww. Just think of how her life could have turned out differently...truly awful parenting, in living color.

    9. That made me guffaw!

    10. RDJ as Sherlock is just hot. Hot. Did I mention hot?

    Fun post Lin!!!

  6. 1. I have no idea what you're talking about. Now I feel like I did as a child who was not allowed to watch TV and never knew what ANYONE was talking about! I'll have to look into this.

    2. *Groan.* I thought this was going to be an easy, not too expensive year. Then I spent $70 yesterday on "little" things for people I work with. Just shoot me.

    3. Oh.My.God. WANT ONE!

    4. Haven't watched that show yet...

    5. I have no idea what to do with this image.

    6. HA. Yum.

    7. Of course it is. And I'm not even being sarcastic. I've worn out two pairs of really pricey jeans in the last year. I'm in a similar state of mental justification.

    8. Somewhat. Ha.

    9. Tell me about it. I'm not sure I even know HOW to diet. Every time I try I gain 5 more pounds.

    10. I'll do my best! ;)
