Fill In The Blank Friday

I just got back from 10 hours at an amusement park with the hubs, MIL, SIL, her 3 kids, her MIL, my mom & god-kids...yep. Fun fucking times.

I'm tired. But, I Friday's are meant for fill in's so I'm here...

1. One of my happiest moments ever was when Rusty proposed. I'm not saying our wedding day wasn't special but the happiness we both felt that day was so intense. Sort of like it being the beginning of the beginning.
2. Summer is wedding season and weddings are sometimes overdone. I'm a 'less is more' kind of person so ginormous weddings that cost more than my car sort of hurts my heart. I think my wedding cost was about $3,500 in total. Then again, I got married in Las Vegas...not by Elvis though.
3. This summer has been hot! We've had temperatures in the 3 digits & I'm melting here. This girl is not a happy camper in anything hotter than 72 degrees.
4. My summer food of choice is chilled fruit. I've been craving watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, cranberries & blackberries. Just thinking about is making my mouth water.
5. My summer uniform has been jean shorts, colorful tank tops, and either flip flops or my black converse. Not gonna lie, it's pretty much the same as my winter & fall uniform except I trade the shorts for jean pants, ha-ha.
6. If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose somewhere with a cool breeze and a lot of quietness. I'm thinking a beach but I don't like the sun much so the house I'd be staying in would have to have a kick ass porch with a rocking chair on it. You know, if it's not asking too much ;)
7. My summer anthem is both, Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night'

it's so catchy that I can't help but sing along

and Marvin Gaye's 'Got to give it up'

I have Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic to thank for making me a huge fan of this song.

It's not officially Friday here on the West Coast but hope you guys have a fun weekend!

Want to play along with Fill In The Blank Friday? All you have to do is copy the blanks, fill them in & link up at The Little Things We Do so others can check you out.

  1. Yeah, man, I think people obsess a little too much with these crazy huge weddings. I wonder if marriage itself turns out to be a letdown for them. Makes my heart hurt too.

  3. And now that song is stuck in my head! But at least I know who sings it now...I'd only heard it once and it is obnoxiously catchy :)

  4. I totally understand the proposal answer - it seemed much more intense and emotional than our wedding in the sense that it was much more surprising and new and "OMG"... and our wedding was more ooey-gooey and in a sense "comfortable" - there didn't seem any risk involved, we both knew what we wanted and were happy. The engagement, well it's more of a question and the marriage is more of an answer.

  5. I agree totally about over the top weddings! I am a fan of the DIY concept these days, and simple is better.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leading me here; I like what you have going on!

  6. 72 degrees is my preferred temp. Too bad we can't all have a built in thermometer in our bodies. I get seriously grumpy if I get too hot.
