It's Just Rain & Zombies

I was late to work today {again} because of a little bit of rain. I understand that living in SoCal we don't see a lot of it but it's not like it's something new, something we've never seen before, so why must 1 in 5 people freak out & drive like morons?

There were 3 accidents on my way to work, sadly one was fatal, and there were even more reported as I pulled into work. I get that the road is extra slick & it's somewhat difficult to see due to the mist/fog but there's no need to freak out & slam on your brakes every 10 feet or drive like you're speed racer.

I know that this little rant isn't going to get me anywhere but it's frustrating & I hate how stupid people drive when the ground's wet. It's just water...drive the speed limit or better yet, drop it by 5 mph to be safe.

(I've never driven in snow but driving in the rain puts me in the same situation)

Also, does anyone watch the AMC series The Walking Dead? If you don't, you should. This show is seriously bad-ass! Basically it's about County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma & finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse. Rusty told me about it a few weeks before it premiered & I was like "oh awesome, a zombie show!" but I wasn't really expecting too much from it since I figured they couldn't be too graphic &/or gory. Ha...I was wrong!

If you watched last nights' episode then you saw how Rick hacked apart that zombie in order to rub its' guts all over him & Glen...I totally didn't see the network allowing them to show that but I'm glad they did cause it was pretty cool. Also, can I just get it out of the way & say that Rick's wife, Lori, is a total skank for sleeping with his bff/partner. Yep...it's only been like 3 weeks (according to the story line in the comic series, which I'm now reading...don't judge this nerd) & she cant keep the kitty under wraps. Also...taking off your husbands wedding ring & setting it aside as you do it with his buddy doesn't make it any better...I hope they kill her off...quick.

So yeah if you haven't noticed, I'm a total geek for this show & Rusty got me into reading the comic series this weekend so I did nothing much but read all weekend. Honestly, I don't even know who I am anymore, I used to make fun of people for liking comics, ha ha. Also...I've realized I'm totally out of shape & would never out run an effing zombie.

Hopefully if a zombie apocalypse was to ever happen we'd be lucky enough to get the slow moving, stupid, George A. Romero type zombies & not the one's that seem like they trained for the Olympics & can outrun a car cause then I'm totally lunch.

  1. LOL! I used to make fun of comics too but I get them for my favorite book series. (wheel of time)

  2. Here in PA we have snow and you would think that would make people less afraid of rain, but no. It doesn't. Snow, rain, sleet...it's pretty much all the same according to the idiots of the road.

My best friend Carsley is a total comic nerd. She worked in a comic book store during college and I would hang out there all the time (even while making fun of comic books). She tried desperately to get me into comic books, but there's only a handful I'll read.

  3. I love that show and can so agree to how people drive in the rain, even in a state where it rains often!

  4. A) rain = liquid stupid. It happens everywhere, and sane drivers all over the world are baffled by the effect it has on 78.3% of the population.

    B) Walking Dead = AWESOME! I haven't seen the second episode yet because husband and I like to watch shows we both give a crap about seeing together...which means huge backup in the DVR and us being weeks behind on most shows! So, sorry, as soon as I realized you were talking about the one I hadn't seen I skipped that paragraph :)

  5. I hate the way people drive in the rain. It seems that people have been driving worse and worse lately too. Then throw in a rainy day and all hell breaks loose. Ugh.

  6. I am going to ask my husband to look for this show. I like zombies but I wonder if this show will give me nightmares. For the first couple of episodes of Vampire Diaries, I couldn't fall asleep, because I kept thinking about scary vampires.

But The Walking Dead sounds like 28 Days Later and I liked that movie.

  7. i'm a scaredy cat but was intrigued when this show aired. i can only watch it through my fingers and only if my hubs is beside me. i like the plot and i was surprised at how gory it is!

btw, leesh said that you're into SoA... she got me into that and i LOVE it!

I love comments!
