Vintage Celebrity Saturday

She's been a lot of great movies but will always be famous for just one. She actually looks a lot like she does now so this one might be easy...

  • Born June 28, 1948 in Memphis, TN.
  • Graduated from White Station High in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.
  • Graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA in 1969 with an BFA in Theater.
  • Youngest of 3 sisters.
  • Lived with ex-husband Tony Campisi for 12 years before marrying him. They married in 1991 & divorced in 1997.
  • Does not have any children but has referred to Adam Sandler as her son & he even calls her on Mothers Day.
  • Was nominated for Broadway's 1983 Tony Award as Best Actress (Play) for "'night, Mother."
  • Auditioned for TV series "Three's Company" (1977) for role that ultimately went to Joyce DeWitt.
  • She is an artist and writer and hopes to someday write and illustrate her own children's book. She has spoken at award ceremonies for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
  • Donated $1 million to Hurricane Katrina victims.
  • Has said Dolores Claiborne (1995) is her favorite film role.
  • With her role, The Family That Preys (2008) she was the first white actress to have a lead in a Tyler Perry movie.
  • She was the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress in a horror/thriller for her role in Misery (1990).
  • Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2003, has stated that she has made a full recovery.
  • She currently has a recurring guest role on the American version of The Office as Jo Bennet, the head executive of the company that buys Dunder Mifflin known as Sabre.
