Favorite Movie Tuesday

I haven't done one of these posts in like 2 weeks so I'm happy to be posting a new one. For a while I thought I'd run out of movies but nope, I was just having favorite movie mental block.

This weeks' favorite movie is

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of the funniest movies I've seen. It for sure makes it on the top 10 movies. I remember when this movie was first being promoted & they had all these weird posters on billboards & buses that said "You suck Sarah Marshall". I remember thinking, wow that Sarah chick sure pissed off the wrong guy, lol. I felt sorta dumb when the movie was announced.

The movie premiered in 2008 & stars
Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand, and Jonah Hill. To be honest I've never been a big fan of Jason Segel's, especially cause he hasn't been in much but he was pretty funny as the guy who gets dumped. One of my favorite parts is when he's in hotel room crying like a woman & Rachel (Mila Kunis) calls saying they got complaints of a woman crying & he tries to tell her it must be the floor above him but he's on the last floor...I laugh till my gut hurts every time! The entire cast worked really well together & everyone was funny in their own way.

If you haven't seen this movie but love adult (they show Jason Segals' peen in the beginning) comedy then you should totally rent this. It's full of laughs & the best part is that it's a love story too.

Synopsis:

When Sarah Marshall dumps aspiring musician Peter Bretter for rock star Aldous Snow, Peter's world comes crashing down. His best friend suggests that Peter should get away from everything and to fly off to Hawaii to escape all his problems. After arriving in Hawaii and meeting the beautiful Rachel Jansen, Peter is shocked to see not only Aldous Snow in Hawaii, but also Sarah Marshall.

Movie Trailer:

Trivia:
  • Screenwriter and star Jason Segel told New York Times interviewer Dave Itzkoff that both the naked breakup and Dracula puppet musical scenes were drawn from his real life experiences.
  • The topless photo of Mila Kunis' character was not real, according to director Nicholas Stoller.
  • Kristen Bell damaged her knee whilst filming one of the horse scenes for the movie, which didn't end up making it into the final cut, however she can still be seen walking with a light limp in scenes towards the end of the movie.
  • Russell Brand, who plays Aldous Snow, revealed in his stand-up DVD Russell Brand: Doing Life - Live (2007), while talking about making the film, that he fancied Mila Kunis, who plays Rachel Janson.
  • The role of Aldous Snow was written with Charlie Hunnam in mind.

  1. I swear, based on your favorite movie posts we might be the same person! I *LOVE* that movie! My favorite part is when he's composing in his apartment and singing "You need a psychiatrist; I hate the psychiatrist!". I almost pee every time. Oh, and you forgot they do the wiener shot again at the end of the movie :)

  2. Oh gosh. This movie was hysterical!!! Loved it.

But it totally ruined "How I Met Your Mother" for me. Because all I think about is dude's penis whenever I see him. It's ingrained into my brain now. Boo.
