Fill In The Blank Friday

OMG, today was one of the busiest mornings! I was supposed to go to work but didn't because I woke up late...which means less moola for later, sucks. Rusty & I then took my car to the dealership for maintenance where I'm then informed that I need to replace my engine coolant ($89), power steering ($98), and I need a new car battery ($150). I'm freakin broke so I tell them to just change the oil & filter ($23) for now. Then we had to make a trip to my insurance broker, because I let my car insurance expire, where they run my driving record & find out about my ticket. So of course the price of my policy goes up...Lame!

Yep...one busy day. But now it's time for the calmness of Fill In The Blank Friday.

  1. My favorite book growing up was Lord of the Flies. There was something about that story that was always so interesting to me. It just goes to show that without order there is always chaos.
  2. The funniest book I've ever read was actually nothing comes to mind for this one. I don't think I've ever read a 'funny' book...I know, lame.
  3. The one book that has truly changed my life is hmph...I'd probably have to say The Diary of Anne Frank & Fahrenheit 451. I read both of these books in my teens & they left a positive impression.
  4. If you're looking for a real "tear jerker" you should probably read The Giver & Wicked. I didn't really understand The Giver when I first began to read it (luckily Rusty had already read it & explained some of it to me) but after I finished the book I understood it all. I cried at the end...however I still don't know if it was from sadness or happiness. And Wicked is just an amazing book! I love that you get to see things from Elphaba's point of view & what it was like to go through life being 'green'.
  5. If I could meet any author living or dead I would want to meet Truman Capote and both of the Brothers Grimm.
  6. The next book on my "to read" list is Dexter in the Dark (Dexter the show is based on these books) and Something Borrowed. I've read the first two Dexter books & they're better (and different) than the show...I'm addicted. And, I've heard lots of great things about Something Borrowed so I'm going to give it a try even though it's not the type of book I'd originally read.
  7. If I was snowed into remote cabin in the woods and could only choose three books to bring with me I'd bring this one's hard...I have no clue which book I'd bring with me. I'd probably try to sneak in all the one's I've listed here, lol.
Happy Friday...hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! And, if you don't have anything planned & find that you have a ton (or a little bit) of free time then visit The Little Things We Do & check out other blogs that played along with Fill In The Blank Friday...it's fun, I promise :)

  1. OMG...i'm sorry about the car! but what great answers to the fill in the blanks. I didn't do it this week because I'm not that into reading!

  2. I read Something Borrowed on my honeymoon. It is the perfect "turn the brain off" sorta book. It is absorbing, a quick read, funny, - like watching reality TV. Enjoy!

  3. Stopping by to welcome you to SITS!

  4. Oh, I love Wicked! I saw the Broadway show recently and loved it, too, despite my fears that it would suck.

I love comments!
