Wilton Mini-Flower Silicone Mold Review

I've mentioned before that I'm not much for cooking but one thing I pride myself on is being able to bake. You can give me almost any baking recipe & I'll be able to make it, and it usually even turns out edible, lol.

Well, a few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to review a Wilton product. I've used Wilton brand pans several times but hadn't had the opportunity to try one of their silicone pans until I was sent one by Betty Crocker. If you read that review you'd know that I fell in love with it!

So when Wilton agreed to let me review a silicone pan of my choice I jumped on the opportunity to review their adorable Mini Flower Silicone Mold.

I had seen this mold at the store a few months ago & thought it would be perfect for any spring or summer get together. I tested out the silicone mold two nights ago by making mini flower cakes with my god daughter. She was so happy that our mini flower cakes would be 'little girl size' lol.

I think my favorite thing about these types of molds are the fact that you don't have to worry about your cake getting stuck to the side of the mold & then falling apart when you want to remove it from the pan. All I had to do with this mold was spray a bit of non-stick spray on it before baking, let the cakes cool a bit after I removed the mold form the oven & then give each cake a little push on the bottom to pop them right out. It was SO easy! No using a knife to loosen the edges, no flipping it over & banging on the bottom to loosen it...I loved it!

Curious about using silicone pans/molds? Well here's a bit of 411 about them:

  • Silicone is a rubber-like material that meets all FDA regulations for food contact safety.
  • Wilton silicone bakeware and accessories are high-heat resistant up to 500°F.
  • Wilton silicone bakeware is dishwasher safe and can also be hand washed in hot soapy water.
  • You can use your Wilton silicone bakeware in a conventional oven as well as microwave and toaster ovens.
  • Wilton silicone bakeware will maintain its shape regardless of frequency of use or storage.
  • Wilton silicone bakeware is extremely versatile. It can withstand temperature changes such as going from freezer directly to oven, and can be used as a mold for things such as gelatin, ice cream, ice, dips, etc.

After trying silicone molds, I don't think I'll be able to go back to baking in regular metal pans. I've officially made the switch. If you're looking around for new baking gear be sure to stop by Wilton's online store & check out their extensive selection of cake decorating supplies & tips, metal baking pans/molds in various shapes & sizes, and of course their wonderfully fun & colorful silicone pans & molds.

  1. I love that you were baking with your Goddaughter!

Both of my godsons are 2... and boys... and one lives 3000 miles away *heavy sigh*... I miss the kid! I have a goddaughter who is 11... hmmm, actually she isn't my actual goddaughter. But I make her call me Nina dammit! ha!! She choose my husband and I to be her godparents for her first communion, but the church said she could only have one. So she picked my husband. Therefore, I'm stillllll her god mother! ha!

  2. Sounds like an awesome product!

I would enter the giveaway, but I'm not much of a baker. I would hate it if I won and then didn't use it.

You review reminded me that I had to the FTC disclosure to my most recent review. I always forget that!
