Interesting, Yet Useless Facts...#2

Yes...it's time to fill your brain with more useless knowledge.

I'm happy to say that I am happily typing this post in the middle of the day at My desk, woot! That's right, desk-mate has moved on to not so much greener pastures & has taken all her crap (that was cluttering up my lil desk) with her. To be honest, I'll somewhat, not really, miss her & her annoying singing of random songs that she doesn't know the lyrics too.

...moving on...here are some random facts to brighten up your Wednesday...

1. All porcupines float in water.

2. A giraffe can go without water longer than a camel can.

3. A shark can detect one part of blood in 100 million parts of water.

4. Actor Tommy Lee Jones and former vice-president Al Gore were freshman roommates at Harvard.

5. Armadillos have four babies at a time and they are always all the same sex.

6. Ben and Jerry's send the waste from making ice cream to local pig farmers to use as feed. Pigs love the stuff, except for one flavor: Mint Oreo.

7. Blueberry Jelly Bellies were created especially for Ronald Reagan.

8. Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying. (*I'm definitely going to have to try this!)

9. If you toss a penny 10,000 times, it will not be heads 5,000 times, but more like 4,950. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom.

10. It's against the law to catch fish with your bare hands in Kansas.

11. Kotex was first manufactured as bandages, during WWI. (*I keep some my car in case of a pretty bad accident & no one has bandages)

12. Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors.

13. No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, and purple.

14. Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.

15. Wilma Flintstone's maiden name was Wilma Slaghoopal, and Betty Rubble's Maiden name was Betty Jean Mcbricker. (*this was one of my fave cartoons as a child)

Interesting right? Alright, at least admit it was entertaining, lol.

Have a great Wednesday & don't forget I'm giving away a fabulous (so not kidding, read my review here) HANA 1" Professional Flat Iron: Pink Edition!

  1. I had no idea porcupines floated...it makes sense, just not something I ever really though about. And now I feel compelled to toss one into a pond to witness this phenomenon for myself....

  3. I've never heard of the gum thing for onions. I have heard to put them in the refrigerator about an hour or so before you go to chop them up. That's what I do and I never shed a tear :)

&&YAY for no more desk sharing with crazy girl :)

  4. Well the kotex thing just makes sense.

Why don't they teach that penny fact in school while you're learning probabilty? I'm totally throwing the wrench in when my kid gets there in 10 years. How funny will that be when I have to argue with the teacher when his answer is NOT wrong because you said so :)
