Favorite Movie Tuesday

This weeks' movie is...

This movie premiered in 1998, I was 15 & a freshman in high school. I remember it like it was yesterday...oh the sweet memories of awkwardness & desperation, lol. I didn't actually see this movie back then but remember all my friends talking about it after watching it at the theater opening night. I, the uncool kid, couldn't go because my mom found out that there was a jizz scene in it so she wasn't having it. Totally didn't get it then but I can see why she had said no at the time.

The first time I saw this movie I think I was in my late teens & thought it was one of the most hilarious movies I'd ever seen. Actually, it's still one of the funniest. The main stars are Cameron Diaz as the girl everyone wants (she is pretty hot), Ben Stiller as the geeky love interest & Matt Dillon as the creepy P.I.

For the very few of you that haven't seen this movie I suggest you hustle it to the nearest movie rental spot or mark it on Netflix cause this is a serious gut buster. I can honestly say that this movie opens with laughs (Mary's brother asking a girl if she's seen his balls) and closes with laughs (Ben Stiller crying like a lil girl). Ben Stiller with frizzy puffy hair & huge braces is comical a
ll on its own.

Fun Movie Facts
  • When Ted goes out to pee after talking with the hitchhiker, he encounters many homosexuals. Almost all of them are crew members.
  • The film involves two guys fighting over a girl named Mary. In another Farrely Brothers film, Dumb & Dumber (1994), two guys also fight over a girl named Mary in the second half of the film.
  • Cameron Diaz and Lin Shaye were mooned by one of the Farrelly brothers during the filming of the scene in which the two actresses were looking downwards out of the window Puffy had jumped out of.
  • The dialogue between Mary and Ted about how there aren't enough meats on cones was originally written for an episode of "Seinfeld" (1990) that never aired. The Farrelly Brothers liked it and bought it for use in the movie.
  • Dropping Ted on the stretcher wasn't scripted. When it happened, they cut to make sure Ben Stiller was okay and then thought it was so funny they left it in.
  • Cameron Diaz's father was on set during filming, so the Farrellys decided to throw him in the movie. In the scene where Ben Stiller is released from prison after being wrongfully accused of murder, Cameron's dad is the inmate in the front with a beard and long hair jeering at Ben.
  • Football star Steve Young was originally supposed to play the part of Mary's secret love. However, as a practicing Mormon, he declined, due to the nature of the movie.

  1. Omg. That movie? One of my most fave movies of ALL time.

I love it when the dog od's...hahaha!!

  2. This was one of the first rated-R moves I saw! I think I was 13 and my parents didn't let me see rated-R movies but I had a best friend whose parents didn't care, so they let us rent it! Haha.

I love comments!
