Favorite Movie Tuesday

This weeks' favorite movie is...

Overboard premiered in 1987, way before my movie watching time, but is definitely a classic in my book. I first watched this movie around the age of 12, with my dad. I remember we had this movie on VHS & it was one of his favorites. I didn't quiet understand the comedy of it at that age but still enjoyed watching it. I swear we watched that movie so much that the VHS tape shredded in our tape player one day, lol. That was one sad day.

If you've been living under a rock for the past 23 years & haven't seen the movie, you really should rent it. This is one of those classic romantic comedies from the 80's that never seem to get old. Goldie Hawn is hilarious at fantastic at playing the bitchy rich lady, while Kurt Russell does a fantastic job at playing the ruggedly handsome hard working single dad. If you're ever in the mood for a goofy flash back night with the girls or your guy this would be a great choice.

Movie Plot:
Joanna (Goldie Hawn) hires country carpenter named Dean (Kurt Russell) to build a closet on her yacht. When the two don't see eye-to-eye, Dean is left unpaid while Joanna sets sail. The following day, Joanna is fished out of the sea, after falling overboard, suffering from amnesia. Dean sees this as the perfect opportunity to get even & regain the money she owes him and he tells her she's his wife; that way Dean gets a free housekeeper and mother for his four kids. But what neither of them expected was to actually fall for one another.

  1. I love the Overboard. I watch it every time it comes on TBS. So, I've seen it about 50 times.

I read that they are working on a remake. Unfortunately, they've cast J.Lo as the Goldie character. Puke!
