Taxes, Crazies & Vampire Nakedness

My taxes are filed & I'm so happy that I'll be getting a pretty reasonable refund this year. Yay me! The thing that really upsets me is the thought of having spent so much money in the past on having them done for me & I never once received the amount I'm getting now that I did them myself. Oh well...

Seriously, I cannot believe how simple it was to file them myself, why the heck didn't I do it before? Thanks to all you gals who gave me advice on where to file for free, I couldn't have done it without you. My bank account seriously thanks you!

Before all this talk of possibly becoming unemployed, Rusty & I had planned on buying a desktop computer or a 55-inch flat screen with our return. Ahh, good times. Well, this is now out of the question. I haven't talked it over with the Rust-Man yet but I'm thinking about sticking this $ in a savings account that I cant touch for a couple of months. This may be just what we need to get us started on saving some dough & not spending it as soon as it hits my wallet, who am I kidding...as soon as it hits my bank account.

I know people all over the U.S. have been losing their jobs for the past 2 years but since the issue didn't effect me at the time I was stupid & ignored the fact that it could possibly be me losing my job someday & I didn't bother to start saving for a rainy day. Sadly, the time has come where I might be effected by it & I'm not prepared for it. I have nothing saved & it's time to start. I can't see Rusty not agreeing with me on this so I think it's pretty much a given that this is what'll happen with this $. We'll pretend it doesn't exists.

Movies...oh how I love movies. Rusty & I consider ourselves huge movie buffs so it pains me to admit that we have never seen the original of this movie:

The Crazies was originally released in 1973 & was written/directed by Mr. George A. Romero himself (fyi: he created the zombie genre). I guess the movie bombed big time back then so he has decided to remake it for us in hopes that it'll do a lot better.

I'm not just saying this because the star of the remake is my hottie crush Timothy Olyphant, but this movie has potential. I haven't seen a really good horror/thriller movie in a long time so I have serious high hopes that this one will be the one that breaks my awful horror movie streak (ie: Halloween 2).

According to Wiki, The Crazies (2010) is about the inhabitants of a small Iowa town suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply. One man, his wife, a nurse, and the sheriff try to survive this plague, but when the military are killing everyone on sight, they're going to have to fight their way out, or die by either the plague or the military.

I know, I mentioned vampire & nakedness so it's the only reason your reading. Well go cool off cause there will be no photos of naked vampires here, sorry. But the good news (for all my True Blood fans) is that the 3rd season of True Blood will include a lot more shots of Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) in the buff *smile*. I seriously think it's about time the ladies get a little something cause the men (& some ladies) get a ton of Sookie nude scenes.

We can aslo expect to see more flashbacks of Eric's past as a viking, learn about Sam's background & family, the introduction of Werewolves and maybe a new love interest for Tara. Season 3 sounds good so far. I just hope they don't mess it up by leaving Bill out of this season, you know since he was kidnapped at the end of the 2nd season & all.

I cant wait for the season to begin. I wonder where their gonna go with the Hoyt & Jessica story & I really hope they don't keep Queen Sophi (Evan Rachel Wood) around for long, I don't like her.

Wow...this turned into a doozie of a post so I'll end it....here.

  1. I'm waiting for the last of our W2's to arrive so that I can file our taxes. This is the first year we'll be getting ours done. We've always done them ourselves, but this year we have the baby to write off. Along with medical bills from when the baby was in the NICU and whatnot. Where were you able to get them done for free!? I'm sure my out-laws...err I mean in-law's would be very interested in Free! Plus this might mean that we wouldn't have to have them come over so my husband could do their taxes for them!

  2. Definitely put it in the bank!

    As soon as you buy something with it, you'll feel remorse because you're worried about the job situation.

    Save it so that when your worries are over, you can actually ENJOY spending it.

  3. Yay for savings! We're paying off a chunk of our credit card and then stuffing the rest in savings. I may take a little bit for some shopping therapy...but I'm not sure.

    Still praying for you and your job, hun. {{hugs}}

    xoxo
