Starbuck & Disney Stuff...

I was reading the yahoo news today & came across an article about Starbucks releasing a 'low calorie' menu next week. Who knew coffee could be low calorie?

I'm a total freakin' Starbucks junkie. I'm the type of person that cant get her hands on a Cinnamon Dulce Latte fast enough. I'm addicted!

Anyhoo, Starbucks will introduce a line of low-calorie beverages & foods to meet the needs for a healthier menu (this is for all you health junkies). The new menu will feature drinks that are 90 calories or less (pretty impressive, I wonder if they'll taste like cardboard?) and snacks that are 220 calories or less per serving.

Here's their new lineup of new foods/drinks, which debut Tuesday in all cafes:

Vanilla Rooibos Full Leaf Tea - as part of the companies transition to new Tazo Full Leaf Teas & infusions (10 flavors in total & all Tazo teas have ZERO calories).

Skinny Cinnamon Dulce Latte - 90 calories for a tall (I'll have to try this for myself & let you guys know if its a yay or a nay)

Skinny Vanilla Latte - 90 calories for a tall

Chicken Santa Fe Panini - Contains natural chicken breast topped with a sour cream green chili spread, bell peppers and Pepper Jack cheese on flatbread.

Roasted Tomatoes & Mozzarella Panini - Contains basil pesto, roasted tomatoes, fresh spinach and mozzarella.

Ham & Swiss Panini - A classic ham and Swiss sandwich upgraded to a Panini on focaccia bread, with natural Black Forest ham, fresh tomato, Swiss cheese and tangy Grey Poupon Dijon mustard.

Tuna Melt Panini - Contains “dolphin-friendly” tuna salad and cheddar cheese on flatbread.
(*All sandwiches are fewer than 400 calories. Cost: $5.45-$5.75)

I dont know what's going on with everyone trying to go 'healthy'. Sometimes it just gets pretty annoying. When I buy coffee with all sorts of added ingredients I know that I'm getting fat by drinking it but whatevs....it's good & that's all that matters to me. More power to you if you have the discipline to truly eat healthy cause I'm majorly failing at it, ha ha.

In other news, Disneyland's fabulous get in free on your birthday deal is over, wuah wuah wuah.

I don't know if Disneyland is gonna bring this back but I'm sure they made a ton of cash because of it, so maybe we'll see it sometime next year. I also thought it was pretty awesome that Season Pass holders received a gift card with $72 on it on their birthday instead of getting in free.

Well, just because this deal is over doesn't mean you still cant get free stuff on your birthday at other locations.

Check out these other cool deals:

My birthday's next month so I've already gone ahead & signed up for most of these. Yay for free stuff on your birthday!

*Edit Note*
I just remembered that I didn't post about Disneyland's 2fer Tickets (for SoCal residents) coming back. The 2fer ticket is $72 (adult)/$62 (child 3+) & gets you into both parks, Disneyland & California Adventure. The only thing is you cant go into both parks on the same day (they're not park hopper tickets), you have to buy them by April 12, 2010 & the second park must be visted within 30 days of the first park. Tickets can be purchased at one of Dinsey's box offices, online, or you can grab one or 2 while shopping for groceries at Vons, Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Albertsons, Stater Bros, Toys R Us, Dearden's & Irvine Spectrum.

Not too shabby. I bought one of these tickets for my god-son's birthday last year & he had so much fun going to both parks. He's even asking me if we're gonna take him this year. Yeah...I'll get right on that kiddo, just let me grab some extra $ off my money tree ;)

  1. That new menu is making me hungry!

Honestly, I've been to Starbucks only 2-3 times. It's okay but it doesn't really knock my socks off. But I'm kinda biased since I'm not a coffee drinker.

I'm with you though - how will they make their low-cal drinks not take like cardboard... or watery coffee?

  2. I'm not a coffee drinker... at all. But I love love love me some signature hot chocolate from sbux. And IF I do drink a coffee... it's in the form of some very fancy and very fattening coffee from sbux. For serious! I KNOW that it's gonna make my a$$ grow... duhhh! ha!!

No more free entrance?! We didn't go last year for our bdays because I was pg and then had a newborn for mine. We were looking forward to it thisy ear. Maybe we'll just get passes instead!?

  5. My drink isn't on the "healthy" menu :( Hahaha! Oh well. I guess if I was going for healthy though I would have a V8 or a sugar-free fruit smoothie :)

  6. I LOVE Starbucks, but have basically given it up except for special occasions. Too expensive, too many calories.

I might have to go try the skinny cinnamon dulce latte, though. Sounds yummy!
