Tomorrow's Turkey Day...

And like most people I'm going to be at home with my mom trying to get a turkey, ham, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, pies, biscuits, ect., all ready before 6pm. I'm not looking forward to getting up early only to cook food. I used to like it better when I could just show up to someones house with a pie & head straight to the table & grub, ha ha.

The in-laws are supposed to be here somewhere between 1pm & 3pm today. It's about a 9-10 hour drive for them to get to our house so hopefully that'll give me enough time to get home & figure out what to cook for dinner tonight. Well, that's if my boss lets me go home by noon, which they usually do so we can get some last minute shopping done (thank god!). So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed until then.

There was so much I should have done yesterday (cleaning wise) but didn't because I had to stay in Orange County last night & get my measurements taken for Joe & Bonnie's wedding (this is why there is not a new Favorite Movie this week). When my mom & I got to her house she informed me that she wanted all the bridesmaids to get the same dress after all (great *insert sarcasm here*). Luckily the damn thing isn't all that bad & actually looks somewhat like the one I had hoped to wear. My mom on the other hand was not a happy camper, they kept trying to push a grandma type dress on her. For gods' sake she's 49, not 79. We're going to go shopping this weekend in hopes of finding one she'll like.

Rusty just called a few minutes ago & told me that he woke up early & cleaned everything I wasn't able to last night so I don't have to stress about it anymore. I love you Rusty & you're the greatest house husband ever! I promise to leave you all my pretend millions when I die ;)

I've sort of been in a rut lately with my blogging (as if you couldn't tell). I feel like have nothing to write about but the drama going on in my family. It's lame & even I don't want read about it, lol. Hopefully after a couple of days & a ton of food I'll have some possibly interesting posts to put up.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow & are blessed with even more things to be thankful for next year!

Things I'm thankful for:

  • Rusty
  • Still being employed
  • Having a roof over our heads
  • My car (which needs new tires & brakes but is being a total trooper)
  • My family
  • My (under control) health
  • Freedom
  • My DVR (it was hell without you!)
  • See's Candy
  • Red Lobster cheesy biscuits (sooo good)
  • & all of you, my blog readers (thanks!)

  2. I"m the same way - I keep telling my husband I wish we lived in Alaska, Maine, Colorado - anywhere where there is snow. *lol*

We started cooking our Thanksgiving stuff tonight - it's just me and Rich again this year, so we're not making a lot. I can't wait to dig into it tomorrow - it smells so good right now.

  5. Our families are back in Texas, so we didn't have to worry about them wanting to do Thanksgiving together. *lol* We think that that Thanksgiving and Christmas are way too hectic, chaotic and stressful, so we always enjoy doing our turkey day alone. I'm not looking forward to CHristmas - we're driving to TX for the holiday and I know it's going to be insane.

I love Dan Brown's books, I read A&D's a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
