Favorite Movie Tuesday

*Forgot to post this thing yesterday...it's late but here it is. Happy Veterans Day!*

This weeks' favorite movie is:

This movie premiered in 2006 & won a ton of awards. To be completely honest, I hadn't even heard of this movie when it first came out. I remember my bro Joe & Bonnie asking if we'd seen it & we were like 'Nah, it looks like whatever'. They insisted it was one of the greatest & funniest movies ever made & we thought 'Yeah...you guys suck at picking movies so we're not going to take your work for it'.

Well, we should have because it's freaking GREAT! After about a year or so Rusty & I gave in & watched it. We loved it. It was so funny, heartwarming & sad. I think my favorite thing about this movie is that it has that 'real life' feeling to it. Everything that happens in the movie could possibly happen to any family. Parents fight, kids hate their parents, relatives are crazy & depressed & some even do drugs...it's life.

I'm sure anyone who's watched this movie will totally agree that watching Olive dance at the competition automatically puts a smile on your face & seeing Dwayne breakdown has your eyes watering. This movie stars some pretty big stars too (Abigail Breslin, Greg Kinnear, Paul Dano, Alan Arkin, Toni Collette, & Steve Carell), or at least they're big stars now.

When this movie was shooting Steve Carell wasn't even considered a big name in Hollywood. It wasn't until this movie premiered that his had 'made it' big with the premiere of The 40 Year Old Virgin. Toni Collette was also somewhat of an unknown & now has her own her show (United States of Tara) on Showtime (FANTASTIC show btw!). It's pretty funny how one movie can change it all.

Here's the trailer for you viewing pleasure:
